Commissioning Of Chemical And Petrochemical Engineering Laboratories
On the 22nd of April 2016, the Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Laboratory was successfully commissioned. Following the establishment of the Petrochemical Engineering programme in 2010, World Bank sponsored Oil and Gas Capacity Project (OGCBP) running from 2010 came as a welcoming support for the Department of Chemical Engineering. This project has improved the quality of technical personnel in both upstream and downstream ends of the oil and gas industry.
The OGCBP has procured equipment worth about US$2.4 million for teaching and research and refurbished existing laboratory space at US $800,000 to provide space for the equipment in the Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Laboratories namely the Process Development Lab, the Unit Operations Lab, Biotechnology lab and Instrumentation Lab.
The Head of Department for the Department of Chemical Engineering Mrs. Zsuzsanna Momade expressed her heartfelt gratitude and described the day as exceptional and the most beautiful day in the history of the department since its creation.
