Entry Requirements

The Department of Chemical Engineering runs MPhil and PhD programmes in Chemical Engineering.

Admission requirements

Applicants must possess a BSc Degree (First Class or Second-Class Upper Division) in either Chemical Engineering or other engineering/science disciplines. Candidates with BSc Second Class Lower Division in Chemical Engineering and at least three years relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum of two recommendation letters preferably from academic or one academic and one professional sources.
All applicants will be required to pass an oral interview and demonstrate the ability to fund or prove the source of funds for the research.
Applicants for the MPhil programme are also required to submit a synopsis of their research proposal, stating clearly the member(s) of staff of the Department willing to supervise their research.

Applicants must possess an MSc or MPhil degree from a recognized university. The first degree of the applicant should be First Class or Second-Class Upper Division or its equivalent in chemical engineering or in a related field.
