Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree Programme
Applicants must possess an MSc or MPhil degree from a recognised university. The first degree of the applicant should not be lower than a 2nd Class Upper or its equivalent. An outline of a research proposal should accompany the application.
Courses to be taken by students in PhD programme will be determined by the advisory committee. There is also ample opportunity to take courses which lead to a broader perspective. The program is to take a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years.
Assessment and Graduation requirement
The PhD programme emphasizes research leading to a dissertation; at least two original publications should be made out at the results of the research. The candidate ought to have passed all prescribed courses. He should do a public defense of his dissertation and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge at the particular major field of study.
